The company established an emergency response headquarters on the same day, and after investigation, it was confirmed that the company's server had been attacked by ransomware. In response to this cyber attack, the company has made protecting important data, including personal information of customers and business partners, a top priority, and has taken measures to shut down affected systems to minimize losses.
Subsequent investigations have discovered evidence of possible information leakage. Currently, the potential content and scope of the leak are under investigation.
This cyber attack has affected the company's domestic order processing, shipping, and other businesses in Japan, resulting in the inability to receive emails from external personnel.
The order receiving and shipping business processed by the system is still suspended, but the company prioritizes product supply and is manually processing some orders, gradually resuming shipping.
Regarding customer feedback on Asahi Easy open end beer, beverages, food and other products, the company is actively promoting relevant preparations and plans to gradually resume telephone reception services starting from the week of October 6th.
At present, the company cannot determine when the system will be restored, but the emergency response headquarters and external experts are working together to try to restore the system as soon as possible. The scope of this system malfunction is limited to Japan.
