Brazil and China join hands to expand the international market for craft beer
2025-11-19
On November 13th, it was reported that the Brazil International Beer Awards (BBA) ceremony was recently held in Alagoinhas, Bahia, Brazil. At the award ceremony, BBA and China International Beer Challenge (CBC) officially announced the establishment of a strategic partnership.
According to the Aragonias City Government, the cooperation agreement was signed by BBA organizer representative Development da Rocha and CBC organizer representative Mr. Zhou, marking a new chapter in cooperation between the two global beer centers.
With the support of Setur BA, Aragonias Municipal Government, and sponsorship from Sebrae, the Brazilian International Beer Awards have consolidated its position as one of the most influential events in the global beer industry and strengthened the central role of Bahia as a hub for traditional, innovative, and international craft beer.
The cooperation agreement between the two parties includes exchanges and joint training of judges, promotion of award-winning beer, commercial support and expansion of distribution channels, as well as technical and cultural exchanges in beer style and craftsmanship. This collaboration brings together the two major beer events in South America and Asia, building an unprecedented bridge between the beer markets in Brazil and China.
As the world's largest producer and consumer of lager eoe beer, China is undergoing a creative revolution in the craft beer industry, integrating raw materials such as tea, rice, and seasonal fruits with modern production technology. As the world's third-largest beer producing country, Brazil is renowned for its creativity and emphasis on local communities.
Brazilian craft beer showcases the diverse flavors and local specialties of the Amazon region, such as the recently popular Catharina Sour beer. The characteristic of this beer is based on German wheat beer, and tropical fruits such as passion fruit, mango, and guava are added during the fermentation process to give it a rich fruity flavor and refreshing acidity. This product was first brewed in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil, and gradually became popular throughout the country and even the world.
This cooperation is expected to bridge the gap between different cultures and promote the entry of high-quality beer into the international market. The agreement also stipulates that beer that wins in one of the events can register for free to participate in the other's event, creating more opportunities for independent producers to enhance their global visibility.
DeVeron Darocha, President of Sol Eventos, a food focused event planning company and representative of BBA organizers, stated that this collaboration is an important step in the cooperation between the world's two beer brewing powerhouses.
DeVeron Darocha emphasized, "Brazil and China both have unique vitality and imagination in the beer industry. This cooperation will promote the exchange of evaluation systems, enhance the value of local specialty beers, and drive award-winning beers to the international market. I am honored to see high-quality products enter new markets and win the favor of more consumers
