On May 19th, AB InBev Belgium announced the launch of a summer limited edition eoe beer called "Jupiler APPLE".
The company plans to launch this Jupiler apple beer as a limited time product. The inspiration for this beer comes from a similar product launched by Anheuser Busch, a US subsidiary of AB InBev, in 2020.
Budweiser light beer with apple flavor was initially launched as a limited time product in 2020. In 2021 and 2022, it will be released in limited quantities again. However, due to the sustained demand from American consumers, Anheuser Busch has decided to launch this seasonal product again in 2025 and this year.
This inspired AB InBev Belgium to create a similar product based on Jubilee beer, but with a slightly higher alcohol content. The alcohol content of Jubilee apple flavored beer is the same as that of Jubilee beer, maintaining at 5.2%, while the alcohol content of Budweiser light beer apple flavored beer is 4.1%. The calorie content of this Belgian product is slightly higher than that of classic Jubilee beer.
Nowadays, many brewers choose to launch the popular cherry flavored beer, but AB InBev has chosen the apple flavor, reportedly because the apple flavor is more easily accepted and recognized by the public, and is in line with the growing demand for fruit flavored beer among young people in their twenties and thirties.
AB InBev Belgium stated that this beer is only sold in Belgium and will be available in major supermarkets from mid May until limited quantities are sold out. A spokesperson stated that this year's brewing volume accounts for approximately 10% of the Belgian spring and summer flavor beer market share.
Jubilee apple flavored beer is a limited edition and is expected to be relisted every spring, unless there is a major failure during the peak sales season in 2026.
In addition to Jupiler apple flavored beer, AB InBev will also launch Flying Fish beer in Belgium.
AB InBev Belgium explained, "Flying Fish beer has a natural lemon flavor and an alcohol content of 5.9%. It originated in South Africa and has become the most popular flavored beer in Africa
