The British invented a kind of pressing self-cooling cans
2025-3-15
On March 11, British company Delta H Innovations developed a self-cooling beverage can. By pressing a special button located at the bottom, it lowers the temperature of the beer from room temperature to cold. The invention was called the "Cool Can." Coca-Cola, Suntory USA, Carlsberg and Marks & Spencer have all expressed interest in the innovation.
The cooling tank was developed by James Weiss, an entrepreneur and former London bartender. For many years, he worked on the invention of alcoholic cocktails. From experience, he understands the importance of drink temperature better than anyone else.
With no engineering background, he began experimenting at home before conducting lab tests.
Weiss's company surveyed students at Nottingham Trent University, a key part of its target audience, and found that 81 percent would choose a self-cooling tank over a regular one with an easy lid. 73% are willing to pay more for it than for a regular product.
The technology can also be used in other forms of packaging, including bags, cartons and bottles, which Delta H Innovations plans to sell to other businesses. Another advantage of this container is that it is completely recyclable.
