He pointed out that since Trump imposed tariffs during his first term, the US beer industry has been facing pressure from rising aluminum costs, so the industry is very concerned about protecting its position in the beer import market.
The general manager of a brewery in Mexico said that although all the beer produced in the factory is bottled, the uncertainty of tariffs has hindered his customers from placing orders. He explained that craft beer in the United States is already quite expensive, so the increase in product costs is not conducive to market promotion.
For many years, the beer trade between the United States and Mexico has been close. Official data shows that in 2024, the United States imported beer worth $7.5 billion, of which 84% came from Mexico.
