After four consecutive months of declining beer exports to Russia, the EU increased its beer exports to Russia in March 2025, reaching the highest level in three months.
Since November 2024, EU countries have reduced their supply of easy-open-end beer to Russia. In February 2025, the supply reached its lowest level since early 2016, but unexpectedly increased by one-third to EUR 6.1 million in March.
For the second consecutive month, the Czech Republic has been the primary supplier of beer in Europe, exporting beer worth EUR 1.8 million to the Russian market in March, a 1.5-fold increase compared to February. Germany exported beer worth EUR 1.3 million to the Russian market in March, up from EUR 798,000 in February. Lithuania ranked third, with its export value to the Russian market doubling to EUR 939,000 in March.
Italy has resumed beer exports to Russia after a four-month pause, albeit with exports worth only €56,000 in March.
China is currently one of the main suppliers of beer to Russia. According to a report by RIA Novosti last month, in March 2025, China exported beer worth $3.2 million to Russia. This is more than any other country exports to the European Union in a single month.
