2025-6-12
On June 5th, the logistics subsidiaries of the four major beer companies announced that they will jointly conduct demonstration tests of autonomous truck transportation on the highway connecting Kanto and Kansai starting from June 9th.
The experiment will adopt the "second" level, where the driver will drive and some operations will be taken over by the system. The experiment will load canned beer and beverages with easy to pull lids, and test whether the truck can travel on time without damaging the goods. Asahi, Kirin, Suntory, and logistics companies under Sapporo will participate in this experiment. The vehicles of T2 (Tokyo), an autonomous truck technology development company, will make a total of eight round trips from September 9th to November. During the round-trip, the goods, containers, and weight will change, and the truck will operate under various conditions.
